Welcome to New Artist Exposure 10, and this week its New Zealand based global pop all round Ray McPhun and his band The Ruby Suns....

Signed to Sub Pop in the US and Memphis Industries in the UK, this track, 'There Are Birds" is taken from their second album and is a great representation of the sonically complex sounds that they have made their own. Their often cluttered sound features maori singing, sunny guitar melodies, field recordings of animals and a wide range of unusual percussion approaches.

This is a global sound, infused in a blend of indie, electronica, pop and original melodics, vocals and harmonies. Its feel good and if you like this track then you should definitely have a listen to their new album 'Sea Lion'.
