Not by any means a new band, but one with a huge heritage, long recording history and with a cult renown and a level of success that has seen them referred to as the godfathers of alt. rock…
Be that as it may, I'm posting about them today because of their new album, 'Who Killed Sgt. Pepper', recorded in Iceland and released February this year.
BJM are an interesting bunch, the band itself morphes in members, size and output, with references to shoe-gaze, country, electro, brazilian and indie, so its anyones guess what to find on new records.
Who Killed Sgt Pepper, the most recent addition to their extensive discography challenges expectation, again.. sometimes dark and experimental but fully worth a listen…. especially this track, the opener, tribal with a trance inducing rhythmic flow, check out the catchily titled Tempo 116.7 (Reaching for dangerous levels of sobriety)… here.

He is now represented by CitySlang and once again busts through multiple genres in his productions of his new album, merging and fusing to make something often unexpected and sometimes challenging.
Jamelia, the last track on the album, features Luke Lalonde from the Born Ruffians, and mixes deep house, jazz, experimental and indie and has a beautiful minimal feel...
