This is a bit different....
Notorious crate diggers Matt Edwards and Joel Martin - AKA Quiet Village - have released a series of singles and been remixing for diversity of bands including the Gorrilaz, Francois K (and apparently the Osmonds), all of which have built up their profile on the blog-net-world-web.
K7, (berlin label featured last week), have picked up on this buzz and are now releasing their first LP, titled SIlent Movie, which is a hybrid of slow-motion disco, psych-rock and sundown surf tunes.
Citing their influences as Italian film soundtracks, BBC library music, disco edits, acid rock, vintage soul and easy listening... This tune, titled 'Horror Circus' is all prog guitars, organic beats, flutes and inventive samples.
Imagine the intro to a slick 70's cop film, muscle cars, grim chicago streets, trams, traffic lights and dealers, or pick your own imagery, whatever, its all good. Have a listen:
