Welcome to New Artist Exposure 9, and what may or may not be your first intro to MGMT, formerly known The Management.
Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden met at college in the states, where they spent a fair amount of time messing around rock and electronica, soon finding a sound that was different and worthy of pursuing.
In 07 they began recording with Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridman for their debut album Oracular Spectacular. Sign to Columbia and head on tour. Expect to see them in the UK and Europe later this year.
Below is 'Time to Pretend', one of the tracks from their current album...

"All this energy somehow comes together as one, making the whole package so radio-friendly it's practically kissing your aerial." Guardian
