After last nights fairly loud and late urban mini festival, Stag and Dagger, we thought it might be good to feature something a little more soothing. By some amazing coincidence, we received a promo from Berlin indie K7! called Life Beyond Mars - Bowie Covered.
What a treat, especially the first track, Au Revoir Simone's cover of Oh! You Pretty Thing.
With a love of synthesizers and vintage drum machines, Brooklyn trio Au Revoir Simone made their UK debut with the release of mini album, 'Verses of Comfort, Assurance and Salvation', on Moshi Moshi Records (yup, featured again!) This is all layered synths, ethereal, heart felt vocals, dreamy melodies, and occasional and very light percussion.
Check out their version of the Bowie classic, steeped in gentle harmonies, its very very sweet on the ear.
