Biographies:

Orange – Richard Wheeler, head of music
Richard Wheeler is the Head of Music and Film Partnerships and has responsibility for Orange UK's music and film content partnerships and acquisition activity. Richard’s work has a commercial focus – working with product and marketing teams to deliver commercially successful and innovative music and film services across all platforms as well as negotiating contracts, both locally and globally, with UK music providers, record labels, artists, film studios and distributors.

Richard joined Orange from Sanctuary Music Group where he worked since 2001, most recently as Vice President of Digital Business Development but also in roles across marketing, artist management and music publishing. Prior to Sanctuary, he spent two years as an A&R scout at Jive Records and also spent time at V2 Records.  Along with his role at Orange, Richard is also an artist manager and is currently developing a new act by the name of Peter and the Wolf.


Some Friendly – Andy Fraser, Director Publicity
Andy Fraser is the founder and head of Some Friendly, he is also one of the founders of Mute Irregulars, an imprint of Mute.


NME – Alex Miller (new bands editor)
Alex Miller is the new bands editor at NME

 

ZTT Records – Trevor Horn, Founder
Trevor Horn has produced commercially successful songs and albums for numerous British and international artists. He won a Grammy Award for co-writing "Kiss from a Rose" with Seal. He has also won 3 Brit Awards as Best British Producer.

As a musician, he has had chart success with his bands Buggles, Yes and Art of Noise. He also owns a significant stake in the recording company ZTT Records, Sarm Studios and a music publishing company, Perfect Songs. The three are combined under the corporate umbrella of SPZ.

 

Record-play – Daniel Cross, director
Daniel founded record-play in 2003, concentrating initially on sourcing music for films and commercials.  The business quickly grew and, after being contracted by adidas as their music consultancy, record-play also moved into delivering music marketing and communications support to brands. 

Daniel’s mission for record-play is twofold - firstly to run it as a business that supports new musicians and helps them generate revenue from commercial use of their music, and secondly too provide original and meaningful music marketing concepts to businesses.


Universal Music  - Ross Pelling, Publishing Manger
Ross is a licensing manager at Universal Music Publishing, he has worked on countless films, clearing and supervising on the music content.
